FAQs
How does the water circulate?
Our tubs work without electricity. As the water in the coil heats up, it naturally begins to rise (just like hot air). This rising hot water flows up and out of the coil into the tub, while colder water from the bottom of the tub is pulled into the coil to be heated. This creates a steady flow of circulation using a process called thermosyphon — no pump or wires needed.
How do you regulate the water temperature?
Once the tub reaches your desired temperature, stop adding wood and let the hot coals maintain the heat. Temperature changes happen gradually, so there’s plenty of time to adjust if it starts getting too hot or cold.
How hot can it get?
With a strong fire and efficient setup, the tub can exceed 45°C (113°F) — but we don’t recommend going that hot. Most people enjoy it between 37–40°C. Always monitor the temperature using the included thermometer.
Can you use salt water / chlorine?
Yes! All of our products are designed to handle salt water and chlorine without corrosion or damage.
Can you use propane gas to heat it?
Yes, a propane forge burner can be used instead of a wood fire to heat the tub.
How do you fill it?
There are a few easy ways to fill the tub:
-
Garden hose: the easiest method if you’re near a tap.
-
Buckets: if you’re off-grid, two people using buckets can fill the tub in about 15 minutes. The included dry bag works well for this.
-
Battery pump: we recommend the Ryobi One+ transfer pump — it’s fast, portable, and fills the tub in around 30 minutes.
-
River siphon: place one end of your hose in a higher section of river and the other in the tub. Gravity will do the rest.
How do you empty it?
Draining our tubs is easy. Disconnecting the lower quick connect fitting allows the water to quickly and easily drain out.
Is there a warranty?
Yes — every product is covered by our Lifetime Warranty.
